David Ogilvy is a Scottish American singer-songwriter and producer.
He plays mandolin, pedal steel, dobro, guitar, and piano and has performed with a range of artists, including Lucinda Williams, Buddy Miller, Rufus Wainwright, Van Morrison and Jools Holland.
He released his debut solo album, ‘Like It Is,’ in 2003, receiving rave reviews for its fusion of Scottish folk tradition, Americana, and jazz influences. Subsequent albums, ‘Mockingbird’ and ‘Heaven and Earth’, continued in a similar genre. In September 2022, Ogilvy completed his latest album, ‘A Scottish American Songbook,’ featuring 14 Scottish and American songs as well as his own songs.
Ogilvy plays regularly in London and will be bringing a selection of his songs to Devon to perform with Tim Herniman on violin / keys and Pete Maxfield on double bass.
Guest appearance on a couple of tunes from Martha, and also Milla as she sang backing vocals on the album ‘Like It Is’.
